In the first year of the Graduate School, students select one major research area and take courses totalling 18 ECTS in this area. In their selected minor research area, courses totalling 6 ECTS are taken. Furthermore, one doctoral seminar (7 ECTS) must be passed. In the second and third years, students take a further three doctoral seminars (each to the value of 7 ECTS). In at least two of the seminars, they are expected to produce a research paper. From the first year onwards, students are expected to regularly participate in research seminars at which they and faculty members present their research. The research seminars are offered jointly by several faculty members.
