In the framework of the Graduate School, positions as research or teaching assistants are available for excellent applicants.
Interested applicants are also encouraged to apply to other institutions for funding. A wide range of public and private foundations offer postgraduate scholarships both in Germany and abroad. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers scholarships and provides a database of scholarship sources on its website. The German Foundation Index and the Donors’ Association for the Promotion of Sciences and Humanities in Germany are useful links to further scholarship sources.
Employment in one of the participating departments, as a teaching assistant at an academic chair or as a research assistant within a research project, is a further possibility of financing.
There are no tuition fees for the Graduate School.
Doctoral students enrolled in the Graduate School pay the following contributions each semester:
- A contribution to the Student Services Seezeit (80 €).
- An administrative fee for services of the University administration (60 €).
- A student body contribution (10 €)
